World Unemployment Rates Are Up

My liberal friends tell me that wealthy American corporations are creating jobs overseas while taking them from the US. This report by the Associated Press tells a different story.

Ask your friends which country is getting all these jobs. :) I'm sure a lot of people would love to know where to move to.

These jobs are going to India, China and Vietnam. They are mostly high tech jobs. IBM just laid off thousands in the US and are moving those jobs to India. This (offshoring of high tech jobs) started back in the early part of this century. I've friends who've gone to India and trained those who are later took their jobs. This is such a problem that IT majors in US universities dropped drastically once college students learned that field had dried up. Hopefully those jobs will come back to the US someday when companies realize that the money saved isn't nearly enough to counter the headaches of working with people thousands of miles away. You might want to research the high tech jobs and offshoring.

Here's a good link to support what I said. The US has been bleeding high tech jobs for years.

I'm not denying many of these jobs are outsourced. What I am posting about is the high unemployment rates around the world. You are comparing apples to oranges, Robyn. I am making a general statement.

I am glad you have liberal friends! They are an endangered species in my state.
